Customers Rock! News
Posted by Becky Carroll on 28th August 2008
Today, I have a few different topics of interest for you, regarding my blog’s address, other places to find me, and more cool conferences coming up. Read on!
My Blog Has Moved!
I have officially moved my blog from http://customersrock.wordpress.com to http://www.customersrock.net. In other words, I now have more control over what I can and cannot put on my blog, as it is self-hosted. For example, I can now have code on my site (wordpress.com didn’t allow that), so I can add new features like the ShareThis plug-in, allowing you to share posts you like via your preferred bookmarking or tagging tool (see the end of each post). Woo hoo!
What does this mean for you, my readers?
- If you are subscribed to my blog, you don’t need to do anything different - your subscription will be automatically updated!
- If you have my blog listed in your blogroll or other places on your site, please check the url and make sure it points to www.customersrock.net.
- If you are not currently a subscriber to Customers Rock!, please subscribe now so you can keep up to date with everything that goes on over here.
Thanks! The readers of my blog mean the world to me.
MarketingProfs.com – What Smart Marketers Read
If you aren’t familiar with MarketingProfs.com, you should be! It is a great resource with articles, webinars, and their blog, MarketingProfs Daily Fix, presenting in-depth and practical information on all things marketing. Many of the articles and case studies include business-to-business marketing examples as well as consumer-focused and social media marketing topics.
I am honored that Ann Handley, Chief Content Officer at MarketingProfs, has asked me to start contributing articles to her newsletter (well, OK, I asked her if I could!). My first article was published this week, called What Do Your Marketing Communications Reveal About You? Here is the intro:
Every touch from every department is marketing. Each customer interaction, whether via phone, email, direct mail, or Web, leaves an impression about your brand. Are your marketing communications self-serving, or are they serving customer needs?
Please go check out my article, feel free to link to it, leave comments on it, and let MarketingProfs know they made a good choice having me over there.
Speaking at MarketingProfs Digital Marketing Mixer!
I am also honored to be invited to speak at the upcoming MarketingProfs Digital Marketing Mixer, October 22-23 in Arizona. The conference has three tracks: email, search, and social media. It also has a special “hot seat” lab, where experts will be taking a look at real-world marketing programs in these areas and candidly sharing their thoughts, as well as ideas for improvement! Some of my favorite bloggers and friends will be speaking there including Mack Collier, Connie Reece, Frank Eliason, Scott Monty, and Chris Brogan (hey, I can’t wait to meet you all in person – finally!).
I am speaking on a panel called How Great Content Keeps Customers at the Table, and fellow panelists include Rohit Bhargava from Influential Marketing Blog and author of the book Personality Not Included, Mildred Center from Sony Electronics, and Esmee Williams from AllRecipes.com.
This conference should be very practical for anyone who is doing or considering doing something with digital marketing. Plus, Scottsdale, AZ in October should be beautiful! Here is a link to the MarketingProfs Digital Mixer conference (plus my readers can get $200 off registration ($350 off before 9/19) by using this discount code: ESPKA08). Hope to see you there, too.
Vote for My Panels at SxSW
Time is almost up to vote (voting closes September 1) for your favorite panels to be presented at the upcoming SxSW event, March 2008, in Austin, TX. This is the conference where the attendees (and potential attendees) get to help choose what will be at the event.
I have two panels up for voting. In order to vote, first you need to register for the site (doesn’t commit you to the event). Then you can vote for or comment on your favorite panels. The two which I have helped to submit are the following:
Vote for this panel with Jay Ehret, Steve Woodruff, and Lewis Green: Posse Blogging – Never Blog Alone
You can also vote for this panel with Brian Solis of PR 2.0: Love Your Customers, They Love You Back
Thanks for helping out!
